Spicy Broccoli: The High Nutrient Superfood

This is a fast-to-make healthy approach to getting your daily veggies. It is packed with vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. You can dial up or dial down the spice intensity to your preference.

Ingredients

  • 2 – 2 ½ cups fresh or frozen broccoli
  • 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 10 – 15 drops of Tabasco or red-hot sauce
  • Red pepper flakes to taste

Tools

Prep:

  • Wash broccoli if using fresh
  • Remove florets from the stalk using a chef’s knife or kitchen scissors
  • Discard the stalk

Directions:

  • Heat olive oil in the pan over medium heat.
  • Add hot sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes; cook for 1 minute.
  • Add broccoli; stir to evenly coat.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
